These units are modified standard M1070 tractor units both of which are fitted with a front interlinking bar which allows the trucks to be coupled in series and also a twist lock system to allow either truck to carry a ballast box to provide traction through additional weight distribution.
In this example the two tractor units can be coupled together to provide 1,000HP of pulling power and the Jeep Dolly has a capacity of approx. 65,000kg on the pin which when coupled with the M1070`s 22,000kg pin capacity allows the haulage of a payload which requires a fifth wheel capacity of 80,000kg+
